for 1993, 24in. nitro chopperlump barrels with matted sight ribs, open sights with folding leaf sight and gold-inlaid sight lines, matted ramp-mounted high visibility bead fore-sights, the breech ends with quickly detachable telescopic sight mount bases to fit Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 telescopic sight, serial no. R770704172, sunken ribs engraved in gothic script with the calibre designations, the tubes engraved in gothic script 'J. Purdey & Sons. London. England.' at the breech ends, each pair of barrels with individually numbered and calibre designated beavertail fore-end, bolstered treble-grip action with side-clips, removable striker discs, elongated top tang with bolted automatic safety, engraved with 'Bolted' in gothic script and gold-inlaid with 'SAFE', gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, rolled edge triggerguard, the action, lockplates and furniture fully engraved with best large scroll engraving on a finely matted background, the lockplates with scrolling banners engraved 'J. Purdey & Sons', the underside with twin scrolling banners engraved 'J. Purdey & Sons' and 'London, England', retaining virtually full original colour-hardening and some finish, 14 1/8in. highly-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, sling swivels, engraved steel pistolgrip-cap (with trap) and engraved steel heel and toe plates, weight 9lb. 14oz. (.375 barrels, unscoped) and 11lb. 5oz. (with scope), 9lb. 10oz. (.300 barrels, unscoped) and 11lb. 1oz. (with scope), in its leather case with accessories and a cotton outer cover
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the rifle was completed in 1993 and that the .375 barrels were regulated with Winchester 300 gr. bullets and the .300 barrels with Winchester 150 gr. bullets
