for 1855, with octagonal 4in. barrel retaining the majority of its original London blue and signed on the top-flat 'ADDRESS COL. COLT, LONDON' on two lines within brackets, London proofs, roll-engraved five-shot cylinder, open iron frame marked 'COLT'S PATENT', retaining much colour, iron trigger guard and grip-straps (finish dulled and frosted), walnut one-piece grip with chequer-lines and hinged under-barrel rammer, all matching numbers including wedge and complete with its English market oak storage case, lined and compartmented in red baize (faded) with parchment instruction label inside lid and including an iron double cavity Colt Patent mould, a later powder flask, pewter oil bottle, period japanned Eley cap-tin, 'L' shaped nipple-key and original steel-handled cleaning rod
