Continental probably Belgian and possibly a late Victorian fantasy piece, with 1in. plain barrel, functional grooved and warded bit, oval pierced bow, the right side mounted with an exposed trigger, sear, hammer and back-facing recurved mainspring with diminutive drum-mounted nipple
