A .410 (SMOOTHBORED) 3IN. MAGNUM DOUBLE-BARRELLED TOPLEVER HAMMER RIFLE, serial no. 10374,
circa 1895, 25 1/2in. nitro reproved barrels (smoothbored to .410 from a .300 black powder rifle calibre), raised ornately file cut rib with banner engraved 'JOH. PETERLONGO. INNSBRUCK.', with unmarked open sight with folding leaf sight (possibly later), 3in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. choke in both, treble-grip action with carved percussion fences, rebounding back-action locks with carved hammers, the rear of the top tang mounted with a flush fitting folding, adjustable peep sight, set triggers, border and Germanic scroll engraving, 13 3/8in. figured pistolgrip stock with sculpted cheekpiece, horn pistolgrip-cap, sling eye missing, and with steel buttplate with ammunition trap, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release and with re-affixed horn finial, weight 6lb. 9oz.
