A SCARCE MAUSER 7x57MM 'MODEL 1895 PLEZIER' BOLT-MAGAZINE SPORTING RIFLE, serial no. 745, circa 1902, 27 1/4in. nitro reproved (in 2021) octagonal barrel with tangent rear sights and winged windage adjustable bead fore-sight, turned down bolt handle, the sidewall engraved 'DEUTSCHE WAFFEN - UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN BERLIN' and marked with a South African registration number 'J1861', detachable floorplate with military style release, flat-side panelled semi-pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, sling swivels leather sling, schnabel fore-end, small chip at toe, the right side inset with a large oval white metal escutcheon, border engraved with blank centre, 13 1/2in. pull including steel buttplate
