A .380 SIX-SHOT REVOLVER, MODEL 'FACTORY CONVERSION WITH EJECTOR OF THE 1851 NAVY', serial no. 56810,
the original revolver from 1856 and converted to central fire circa 1872, with octagonal 7 1/2in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'ADDRESS SAM'L COLT NEW YORK CITY', screws to side of breech retaining the wedge and ejector-rod, plain shortened cylinder scrubbed of scene, the open iron frame with replacement standing breech, side loading gate, iron grip-straps and smooth walnut grip (worn, initials 'S.D.' carved into right hand side), minimal traces of finish, overall length of revolver 13 3/4in.
