early production circa 1870 with octagonal to round 33 1/4in. blued barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating tangent rear-sight, tubular bolt housing with turned down bolt handle and sliding dust-cover, side loading with hinged gate, walnut butt-stock and three-quarter length chequered walnut fore-end with concealed magazine and two iron barrel-bands, spurred trigger-guard and nose-cap with iron under-barrel clearing rod, some staining, 51 1/4in. overall, weight approximately 10 1/2lbs.
