* A PAIR OF 32-BORE PERCUSSION HOLSTER-PISTOLS SIGNED 'B. RATH', no visible serial numbers, probably German circa 1770 with later conversion to percussion, with blued 8 3/8in. barrels of Spanish form, small boat-shaped fore-sights set on silver spider grounds, fully fluted octagonal breech-ends banded at the intersection, solid brushed bright pointed top-tangs, flat locks signed 'B. RATH', pointed tails, moulded nipple bosses, plain moulded hammers, hinged nipple-guards formed from the frizzen feet, walnut full-stocks (some repairs to one fore-end and the same pistol at wrist), carved borders around the locks and fore-end furniture, semi birdshead butts, brass furniture including butt-caps, sideplates, square backed trigger guard bows and ramrod pipes, losses to rammer tips and fore-end caps
