circa 1800 with later conversion by drum and nipple to percussion, with 8 1/8in. plain iron barrel flaring at the muzzle (shallow pitting throughout), replacement folding bayonet released by catch at the top-tang, borderline engraved lock with engraved stepped round tail and signed 'CONWAY' below the drum, walnut full-stock skip-chequered at wrist (worn smooth, expert repair at hand), brass furniture and replacement ramrod, overall length 24 1/2in., weight 3 1/2lbs.
