A 10-BORE PERCUSSION BANK-GUN, SIGNATURE OBSCURED, no visible serial number,
English, some parts third quarter of the 18th century, with round twist-iron 59 1/4in. barrel converted from flint (slightly bent out of true), hooked breech, radiused and curved lock-plate of flint form retaining pan cut-out and frizzen mounting holes, later engraving to the pointed tail and possibly signed 'FREETH' below the pan cut-out, slab-sided hammer, walnut half-stock renewed in antiquity retaining some early brass furniture, under-barrel rib with three thimbles (throat absent) and replacement ramrod, overall length 76in., weight approximately 13 7/8lbs.
