circa 1845, with 28in. browned barrels (top-rib lifting), the top-rib inlaid with silver wire 'LAMINATED STEEL' in script surrounded by scroll-work and engraved 'LONDON' towards the centre, bead fore-sight encompassed by an inlet silver wire circle, itself within the body of a silver wire arrow device, the breech with three white-metal lines and white-metal plugs, scroll engraved top-tang, border and scroll engraved bar-action locks signed 'BENTLEY & SONS', engraved slab-sided dolphin-headed hammers, chequered walnut half-stock, engraved iron furniture and ebony ramrod (missing tip)
