A PAIR OF 50-BORE FLINTLOCK BRASS-BODIED AND BARRELLED BOXLOCK POCKET-PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1795, with plain round turn-off 2 3/4in. barrels, rounded breeches with London proofs, borderline engraved actions with radiused edges and signed within oval borders 'MARSTON' on the left and 'WHITEHAVEN' on the right, central ring-necked cocks with sliding safes to the top-tangs, bulbous bag-shaped walnut butts with white-metal butt-caps and oval escutcheons to the wrists, iron trigger-guard bows (one pistol missing top-jaw and screw), each 8 1/2in. overall, combined weight approximately 1 1/2lbs.
