A .650 FLINTLOCK CAVALRY PISTOL, MODEL '1796 LIGHT DRAGOON TYPE', no visible serial number,
circa 1800, with brushed bright round iron 9in. barrel, moulded band at breech, commercial London proofs, solid top-tang, borderline engraved flat lock marked with a crown and 'G.R.' below the pan, 'TOWER' at the pointed tail and fitted with a ring-necked cock, walnut full-stock, the butt swelling at the pommel and fitted with a brass cap, brass furniture, the trigger guard bow engraved '1 C=V', the serpentine sideplate engraved 'CORNET DAYKIN', possible original brass tipped wood ramrod, 15 3/4in. overall, weight approximately 2 1/2lbs.
