A GERMAN PATTERN 1933 HOLBEIN DAGGER FOR THE SCHUTZSTAFFEL,
pre World War Two, with broad tapering 8 5/8in. double-edged blade etched with the motto 'MEINE EHRE HEISST TREUE', the obverse with the 'twin storks' trademark surrounded by the maker's name, solid nickel furniture, the cross-guard marked for area 'III', ebony hilt inlet with an eagle and swastika device and the 'ss' roundel (hairline cracks) and complete with its black anodised scabbard with nickel fittings. overall length in scabbard 14 5/8in.
