A GOOD PATTERN 1897 BRITISH INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD WITH DEDICATION INSCRIPTION, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
dated for 1911, with straight spear-point 32 3/4in. blade etched with arabesques, crowns and coat of arms, 'GRV' device, broad blind fullers, nickel-plated half basket hilt pierced with honeysuckle leaves and the device of 'GRV', the outer face of the thumb-guard inscribed 'PRESENTED TO F.S. FLETCHER ESQ. BY THE MEMBERS OF THE SERG'TS MESS, Ist C.B.R.F. 16.10.1911', sharkskin grip with wire binding, chequered back-strap and domed pommel, complete with its leather field knot, leather scabbard and nickel-plated dress scabbard (minor spot-stains only)
