for 1944-45, short rifle with 25 1/2in. barrel, simple block and blade fore-sight adjustable ladder rear-sight, straight bolt-handle to the Mauser style bolt, rounded receiver, integral box magazine, hardwood three-quarter stock with applied lower half to the butt-stock, amateur painted Japanese flag and patriotic inscription to left hand side of butt, iron furniture including crude trigger guard bow, iron barrel-band and nose-cap, the nose-cap but not the wood drilled for a cleaning rod, the whole in war economy finish

Other Notes: These crudely finished rifles were Japan's last ditch effort to defend the homeland. Quickly produced with little finesse and every corner cut where possible, they were only really produced in the latter months of World War Two
