one of a number purchased by Britain during World War Two, with blued tapering round 5in. barrel signed by the maker with patent dates to 1926, crescent fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, blued fluted swing-out hand-ejection cylinder, solid frame with 'Purchasing Commission' stamp, chequered walnut grips with inlet Colt trademarked medallions, lanyard swivel and additional British Issue serial number at heel, retaining the majority of its original factory blued finish
