for 1889, with octagonal blued 30in. barrel, dove-tailed tunnel fore-sight, blanking plate in lieu of rear-sight, the top-flat of barrel signed 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. USA', slab-sided colour-hardened falling-block action (faded) with central hammer, top-tang fitted with a folding vernier ladder sight, walnut butt-stock, iron crescent heel-plate, blued under-lever, walnut splinter fore-end with inlet ebony tip, fair amount of finish remaining
