for 1918, with buffalo-weight octagonal blued 35 7/8in. barrel, dove-tailed tunnel fore-sight, buckhorn rear-sight, the top-flat of barrel signed 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. USA PATENTED OCTOBER 7 1879', slab-sided blued falling-block action (faded around pins) with central hammer, top-tang fitted with a folding Lyman vernier peep sight, pistol-grip butt-stock, iron crescent heel-plate, blued under-lever, special Winchester double set trigger, walnut splinter fore-end with inlet ebony tip, much finish remaining
