circa 1870, with expertly re-browned 28 3/4in. damascus barrels, the top-rib signed 'JOSEPH NEEDHAM & CO 26 PICCADILLY LONDON' (rubbed), the individual breeches with border engraved apertures, scroll engraved colour-hardened swing out turn-bolt breech-blocks (needles replaced), each with individual safety catches, the rear of each bolt marked 'NEEDHAM'S PATENT 1150', fully engraved 'butter-knife' bolt-handles with bulbous tips, fully scroll-engraved top-tang, chequered walnut half-stock, iron heel-plate, border and scroll engraved trigger-guard, escutcheoned take-down key and horn tip to fore-end
