circa 1845, with rifled octagonal 10 1/2in. blued barrels, the top-flats signed in gothic script 'FNI PAR GASTINNE RENETTE A PARIS', dove-tailed bead fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights, engraved bands and scrolls at breech, carved and fenced snail, borderline and scroll engraved top-strap, borderline and scroll engraved dipped tail bar-action lock and hammer, walnut half-stock, the grip with carved floral borders to the chequered panels, flared and engraved colour-hardened iron pommel caps with central raised buttons, spurred iron trigger-guard bows, plain triggers and florally carved fore-end tips, no provision for ramrod, much finish remaining
