A FINE CASED COMPOSED PAIR OF APPROXIMATELY 28-BORE PERCUSSION SIDE-HAMMER PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
of similar form circa 1840, with colour hardened octagonal 4 1/4in. barrels, engraved bands at muzzles, the top-flat of one pistol signed 'WITTON, DAW & CO. LONDON', the other with similar signature to top of action, scroll engraved brass boxlock actions of similar form with carved snails, colour hardened hammers, chequered walnut butts with domed iron caps and central trapdoors, guarded triggers with blued bows and brass under-ribs with captive iron ramrods, much finish to both pistols and complete with their contemporary walnut storage case, adapted, compartmented and lined in green baize and containing a fine condition three-way flask, a conical bullet mould of revolver form, oil bottle, cap tin, nipple-key and turn-screw
