circa 1856, with octagonal 5 3/4in. barrel, engraved band at muzzle and scroll engraving to breech, the top-strap signed 'WILKINSON & SON, 27 PALL MALL LONDON', dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, plain five-shot cylinder, solid borderline and scroll engraved frame, sliding safe to the right hand side, double action mechanism with spurred hammer, chequered semi saw-handled walnut butt, moulded butt-cap and guarded trigger, fitted with a 'BRAZIER PATENT' articulated rammer (use no. 44), the whole including the rammer fully gold damascened (small moth nips only to some sharp edges
