A .577 PERCUSSION SERVICE-RIFLE, MODEL 'PATTERN 1853', no visible serial number,
dated for 1855, with 39in. barrel (externally pitted), block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, borderline engraved lock signed 'TOWER' together with the date and a 'VR' device, walnut full-stock with brass furniture, the underside of butt marked 'J.D GOODMAN' and 'SWINBURN', sold out of service marks to side of butt, three barrel bands and flat-ended iron ramrod
