A RARE .451 PERCUSSION SPORTING MATCH-RIFLE, serial no. 11022,
circa 1870, with heavy round 35 1/2in. tapering barrel with flat sighting plane signed 'JOHN HAYTON GRAHAMSTOWN' together with the number '11022', applied table with dove-tailed tunnel fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight with sporting slide, borderline engraved top-tang fitted with a dove-tailed vernier sight, recoloured borderline engraved bar-action lock, chequered walnut half-stock with iron furniture (re-finished, some pitting), horn fore-end cap and probable replacement under-barrel wood ramrod
