A CASED PAIR OF 25-BORE DUELLING-PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1800, with 8in. re-browned octagonal barrels, the top-flats signed in script 'CORK', small white-metal blade foresights set on a starburst ground, engraved border at breech, private proofs, engraved top-tangs, slightly curved bevel-edged locks with stepped tails signed below the pans 'WHITNEY', plain touch-holes, roller frizzens and plain hammers, walnut full-stocks with smooth bag-shaped butts, border engraved shield-shaped escutcheons to wrists, brass engraved roll-edged trigger-guard bows, pineapple finials, turned ramrod pips and horn tipped mahogany ramrods, complete with a period, probably associated walnut storage case relined in coarse green baize and containing a scissors ball-mould, a three-way powder-flask, oil bottle and loading rod
