A FINE CASED 80-BORE FLINTLOCK OVER-UNDER TRAVELLING-PISTOL OF 'BABY EGG' FORM, no visible serial number,
circa 1810, with slab-sided 3 3/8in. barrels of octagonal form with narrow triangular side-flutes, broad engraved band at muzzles repeated at breech, small fore-sight blade, the top-flat signed within a silver banner 'I. BLANCH LONDON' borderline and scroll engraved colour hardened locks with external mainsprings operating on both the hammers and the frizzens, rain-proof pans, sliding safes behind the hammers, swept walnut half-stock with finely chequered grip, clip-corner rectangular escutcheon to wrist, border and scroll engraved domed silver butt-cap with central detachable brass-tipped iron ramrod stored in the grip, double triggers with fully engraved bow and complete with its brass bound and cornered mahogany storage case lined and compartmented in green baize and including a cylindrical powder flask bound in green Morocco leather, a scissors ball mould, a combination turn-screw and an auxiliary ebony loading rod
