A SCARCE ALL-BRASS 28-BORE FLINTLOCK CANNON-BARRELLED SASH-PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1775, with brass turn-off 5 1/2in. cannon barrel (heavily cleaned, loss to detail), rounded breech with traces of engraving and London proofs, scroll engraved boxlock action with central hammer and rounded corners, the action sides signed in banners 'KING' and 'LONDON' on the right and left respectively together with scroll engraving (all rubbed with loss to detail), bulbous walnut butt inlet with silver wire scrolls and fitted with a silver grotesque mask butt-cap (hallmarks obscured) and a silver Rococo escutcheon to wrist, iron trigger-guard bow safety
