A 14-BORE FLINTLOCK SINGLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN SIGNED HETHERINGTON, no visible serial number,
circa 1795, with two stage iron 36 1/2in. barrel, applied bead fore-sight, moulded band at the intersection, engraved top-tang, flat bevel-edged lock signed 'HETHERINGTON' below the pan and with stepped pointed tail, semi-rainproof pan, roller frizzen, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture including raised scroll lower tang, horn fore-end tip and horn-tipped ramrod
