from the Balkan region circa 1820, with octagonal to round 51 1/4in. barrel, the last 6in. of the octagonal section carved with longitudinal flutes, swollen engraved muzzle, false signature at breech and deeply struck oval makers mark, small miquelet lock with carved bridle, the full stock formed from moulded iron plates, engraved and inlaid variously with mother of pearl and brass detail, fish-tailed butt, engraved brass barrel-bands and provision for ramrod (missing)
