30in. nitro reproved unsigned replacement barrels, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored true cyl. and 3/4 choke, Dougall 'lockfast' patent action, patent no. 1128 of 7th May 1860, rearward facing push-down sidelever, ball fences, action face with protruding bosses, the action flats marked 'HIGHEST' and 'PATENT LOCKFAST', rebounding sidelocks with carved hammers, best border and bold scroll engraving, the top tang with the Prince of Wales plumed feathers, the lockplates unsigned, the underside with a cartouche engraved 'J.D. DOUGALL'S PATENT LOCKFAST', 14 3/8in. figured stock with steel heel and toe plates, chequering refreshed, fore-end with crosspin release and lipped finial, weight 7lb. 3oz.
