Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed on 6th July 1934 for Major J.G. Lowndes.

Research would indicate that this could be Major John Gordon Lowndes (Sept 1868 - July 1953)

Other Notes: For a short period in the 1930's, Boss & Co. introduced a full self-opening gun to complement their existing assisted opening version. Only fifty six were produced between 1933 and 1937 (with two recorded as having been finished from Pre-War stock in 1946)
