30in. nitro reproved damascus barrels, raised rib engraved 'BOSS & CO. 73 ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON', and gold-inlaid '1', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, left wall at 19, toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14 3/4in. highly-figured replacement stock, light damage to fore-end, weight 6lb. 9oz., together with its original stock and a fore-end wood blank (to match replacement stock)

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was ordered on April 25th, 1895, as No.3 of a trio by R.H. Rimington-Wilson.

Reginald Henry Rimington-Wilson (1852 - 1927) gained the rank of officer in the service of the Iniskilling Dragoons, and was a keen explorer who had to have frozen toes amputated during an expedition through the Far East in 1880.

On the 12th August 1913, with a party that boasted Major Arthur Aclan-Hood and Sir Ralph Payne-Gallwey, he was on Broomhead Moor where they bagged an impressive 2,843 grouse.
