A 7.92mm (8mm MAUSER) BOLT-ACTION REPEATING CARBINE, MODEL 'PERSIAN CONTRACT', serial no. Z2488, WITH PRESENTATION PLAQUE,
circa 1947, with blued 19in. barrel, protected fore-sight, elevating rear-sight on a slider, blued receiver with charger-bridge thumb cut-out and turned down bolt handle, the nocksform engraved with the Persian Royal coat of arms and various other farsi markings, walnut three-quarter stock, the right hand side of butt inlet with a rectangular farsi marked brass plaque, iron swivels and saddle-rings and partial cleaning rod
Other Notes: The presentation plaque is dated to the Persian Solar Calendar and reads 'be-amr-e-shahane dar moqabel-e khedmat-e derakhshan-e mihani be-aqa-ye 'abdollah 'alikhan-zade e'ta gardid 15 bahman 1325' which translates roughly as 'On Royal command, it was presented to Aqa Abdullah 'Alikhanzade 15 Bahman 1325' (4th February 1947)
