29in. nitro reproved barrel with tangent rearsights and post fore-sight, receiver engraved 'DEUTSCHE WAFFEN - UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN. BERLIN' on the sidewall, bolt numbered 721, floorplate with military style release, the stock (hand-guard cut down) carved on the right side of the butt 'J.J. de Beer' with a garland surrounding a heart and 'De Heer is Mijn rots in den Stijd.', sling swivels, 13 1/4in. pull including steel buttplate, weight 9lb. 5oz. .
Provenance: It is thought that this rifle formed part of a shipment of 2, 000 rifles sent in March 1897
