A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'WEBLEY'S WEDGE-FRAME', serial no. 2525,
circa 1855, with blued semi-octagonal 6 1/8in. barrel, small dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the rear of the borderline engraved top-strap, borderline engraved two-part frame locked together by a barrel-wedge, the left hand side marked 'PATENT 2525', plain cylinder with borderline engraving to the leading edge, double action mechanism with spurred hammer, chequered walnut grips and articulated under-barrel rammer, some possible original finish complete with period mahogany storage case, brass banded and reinforced corners (lock missing), rectangular flush fitting handle to lid within a starburst escutcheon (lid with age-split), the interior compartmented and lined in green baize and containing a brass mould, oil-bottle, loading and cleaning rod combined and a cap-tin, along with a reproduction flask
