being an Irish registration number, the pistol circa 1845 and with Birmingham proved 8 1/8in. octagonal barrel, the top-flat signed 'LONDON', acanthus leaf engraving to the breech-end and top-tang (tang cracked through), border and foliage engraved back-action lock signed 'MANTON', plain walnut full-stock with smooth bag-shaped grip and captive iron stirrup ramrod.
