A RARE .36 PERCUSSION REVOLVER, MODEL '1861 FLUTED NAVY', serial no. 25380,
for 1865 (see notes below), with round 7 1/2in. barrel, the top signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW YORK U.S AMERICA', fully fluted cylinder with matching serial number stamped in one flute and 'PAT SEPT 10TH 1850' in another, open iron frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', central hammer with modified sighting notch, brass grip-straps, smooth walnut grip and cammed under-barrel rammer
Other Notes: Whilst being one of the incredible scarcities in Colt collecting, unfortunately all fluted 1861 Navies should have a serial number below 100. Therefore we can only assume that the cylinder on this revolver has been expertly modified and re-marked or replaced.
