circa 1800, with octagonal 9in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'H.W. MORTIMER, LONDON' over 'GUN MAKERS TO HIS MAJESTY', dove-tailed bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the front of the engraved top-tang, border engraved lock signed 'H.W. MORTIMER', sliding safe behind the hammer, the tail signed below the safe '69 FLEET ST', walnut full-stock (cracked forwards of lock), the bag-shaped butt with broad dot-punched chequering (worn smooth), spurred trigger-guard bow, captive iron stirrup ramrod and iron belt-hook mounted to the left hand side
