circa 1790, with 31 3/4in. triple-stage iron barrel (possibly shortened), banded at the intersection, applied fore-sight bead, private proofs, shallow sighting groove to top-tang, bevel edged borderline engraved lock signed 'PARKES', large roller to the frizzen-spring, walnut half-stock with chequered handrail grip (old crack behind lock), 'banana' shaped butt, iron heel-plate with broad toe, iron trigger-guard tang with pillar-fronted bow, additional later barrel key, white-metal fore-end tip and horn tipped ramrod
