circa 1890, 28in. sleeved nitro barrels (in 1998, original extractors replaced), the rib engraved '2' and 'JOSEPH HARKOM & SON. 32 PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 choke in both, treble-grip action with carved serpentine fences, toplever engraved '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, best fine acanthus scroll engraving surrounding the makers name engraved within a scrolling banner, brushed finish, 14in. figured stock including 7/8in. wooden extension (fore-end wood with small circular hole near knuckle), weight 4lb. 15oz., in its makers lightweight canvas and leather 'violin' guncase.
