circa 1914, 28in. replacement nitro chopperlump barrels, rib gold-inlaid '1' and the tubes engraved 'JOSEPH LANG & SON. 7. BURY STREET. ST. JAMES'S. LONDON. ENGLAND.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, incorporating H. White patent hand-detachable lockplates, patent no. 8564 of 1909, the lockplates each with concealed flush keyhole releases at the rear of the lockplate (missing key), toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, bouquet and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 15in. figured stock (cracked at head either side at rear of lockplates) including 1 3/4in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 13oz.
