A .44 (HENRY RIMFIRE) REMINGTON NEW MODEL ARMY METALLIC CARTRIDGE CONVERSION REVOLVER, CIRCA 1869, serial no. 98683,
with 8in. octagonal barrel stamped with the Remington address and patent details together with 'NEW MODEL', fitted with a Remington pattern under barrel loading lever, six shot cylinder modified for metallic cartridges, stamped with the conversion number 2024W, one-piece frame with sighting groove to the top strap, two-piece walnut grips and brass trigger-guard, the revolver does not have a cartridge ejector rod typical of the early conversions
