A CASED .38 PERCUSSION BAR-HAMMER PEPPERBOX PISTOL BY JOSEPH KEMP OF LONDON, CIRCA 1850, no visible serial number,
with 3 1/2in. six shot Birmingham proofed barrel cluster, foliate engraved rounded action body, the backstrap engraved with the retailers name 'JOSEPH KEMP, LONDON', both sides of the bar-hammer engraved with foliate scrolls to match the action body and the top with a rope design, one piece finely chequered walnut grips with vacant rectangular escutcheon, the trigger-guard engraved to match the action body, good condition with excellent sharp grips, the barrel and action with traces of finish, contained in its original red velvet lined (faded) and partitioned mahogany box, accessories include correct copper bodied flask, pincer mould one arm of which is formed as a rammer, turn screw and cap tin
