A 10-BORE PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN SIGNED MORTIMER, CIRCA 1850, no visible serial number,
with 30in. Birmingham proofed barrels, the top rib inscribed 'LONDON FINE TWIST', foliate engraved fixed breech, borderline and foliate scroll engraved bar-action lock signed 'MORTIMER', the hammers engraved to match, iron mounted walnut half-stock with chequered wrist and fore-end, the stock refinished to a good standard and the chequering recut, barrel with fading brown finish, complete with original ramrod

Provenance: This gun was retailed by the partnership of George and James Mortimer who were factors at 30 Basinghall St. 1820-1850, their guns were generally made in Birmingham, they traded on the old family name
