circa 1786, with two-stage 31 1/4in. round barrel, moulded girdle at the intersection, the breech with stamped maker's mark 'PISTOIA' and with a gold poincon 'MANTON LONDON' hooked breech with engraved top-tang, flat border engraved lock with 'MANTON' signature below the rainproof pan, roller frizzen and 'C' form cock, walnut half-stock with chequered wrist (rubbed smooth) and raised cheek-piece, iron furniture and brass tipped ramrod (broken short), the fore-end with historic repairs
