A RARE 1882 PATENT 'LIGOWSKY'S PORTABLE 15LB SENDER' EARLY CLAY PIGEON TRAP,
US patent 252,230 of January 10th 1882, target clamp missing, with brass spring lever affixed by a ball and socket on an iron tripod with fluted cabriole legs with pad feet (drilled for mounting)

Provenance: George Ligowsky of Cincinnati is credited with creating what we know of today as trapshooting. Ligowsky invented the original clay target in 1880 to replace the Bogardus glass ball.
