A SCARCE 12-BORE 1914 PATENT 'OVUNDO' SINGLE-TRIGGER OVER AND UNDER BOXLOCK EJECTOR, serial no. T 7229,

circa 1922, 30in. nitro reproved barrels with 9mm raised matt top-rib with intermediate bead sight, mid-rib engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS 23 CONDUIT ST. LONDON. "OVUNDO", and 'OVUNDO SYSTEM REGd. No. 354045 / 1913', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, action incorporating L.B. Taylor & Westley Richards patent concealed hook and extension, patent no. 8853 of 8th April 1914, and patent pivoted firing pins, patent No. 9410 of 16th April 1914, Westley Richards patent 'two pull' semi-selective single trigger, patent no. 26659 of 17th November 1909, use number 745, selector with gold-inlaid 'O' and 'U' details, automatic safety with 'SAFE' detail, fine acanthus scroll engraving, the toplever with 'WESTLEY RICHARDS PATENT ONE TRIGGER', retaining much original colour-hardening and some finish, 14 5/8in. figured stock including 1 1/4in. wooden extension (inked to match), diamond shaped strengthening plates at head, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release catch, weight 7lb. 11oz.
