Provenance: The vendor has kindly supplied us with the following information:

"This Churchill XXV sidelock 16-gauge "Field Model" was bought from the estate of a Captain Tredinnick of Wash common, Newbury, by my father, Jim Freeman. It was subsequently given to me as a 21st birthday present in 1965.
It was originally one of a pair, but its twin was quite badly damaged and, sadly, was not purchased. It has been sparingly used over the years on organised shoots, rough shoots and with clays. It has been serviced from time to time by John March Firearms of Wimborne, and recently by Mike Collins in Bournemouth, and was subsequently checked over by Sport Arms in Dorchester. It is a gun to use and treasure"
