for 1894, 30in. nitro reproved Whitworth-steel chopperlump barrels, rib gold-inlaid '3' and engraved 'JAMES WOODWARD & SONS. 64 ST. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON. S.W. MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, right wall at 19, action with carved arcaded fences and side-clips, removable striker discs, toplever gold-inlaid '3', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, protruding tumbler pivots with gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, best fine acanthus scroll engraving, brushed finish overall, 15in. well-figured stock including 1in. leather covered recoil pad, weight 6lb. 10oz.
